Three exceptional students who attend Flagler County public schools are recognized by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office as a “Great Kid” for August 2022.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly met with each of those students on Monday, Oct. 10, and presented them their awards, which were delayed due to Hurricane Ian.
“Presenting these awards is one of my favorite things to do,” Staly said. “We have great kids throughout Flagler County and they deserve to have the spotlight on them for the wonderful and positive things they’ve done and will continue to do.”
Here are August's award recipients:
Kelsey is a fifth grade student who exemplifies outstanding dedication and a positive and respectful attitude. She’s a hard worker who goes above and beyond on a daily basis and gives a great example for her peers to follow.
Miley is a motivated eighth grader who works very hard and goes the extra mile on a daily basis. She is friendly and helpful to her peers while also embodying the skills and qualities of a true leader.
Kevin is a senior who is a battalion commander with the Matanzas Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. He has logged approximately 50 summer volunteer hours assisting the JROTC in addition to assisting with the rearranging of classrooms. Kevin also played a significant role in directing and leading younger cadets. He is admired by all and is truly a key leader.
