Jason DeLorenzo has been appointed chief of staff for the City of Palm Coast and will be the city's third in command, under City Manager Bevan and Assistant City Manager Lauren Johnston.

His role is to build leadership within the organization while handling day-to-day operations, according to a news release from the city government.

DeLorenzo has served as chief development officer for the past three years, leading the city's “Business Friendly” initiative at the Community Development Department. He was previously a Palm Coast City Council member.

“I thoroughly enjoy leading the Community Development Department, but I feel that I have the capacity to assist the city in other areas as well, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of chief of staff,” DeLorenzo said.

He will continue to serve as director of the Community Development Department and will also oversee the Parks & Recreation Department, the Economic Development Division and legislative priorities, according to the news release.

DeLorenzo studied aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is working on a bachelor’s degree in public administration. He was previously the government affairs director for the Flagler Homebuilders Association for 10 years.
