An inmate at the county jail spit at and threatened Flagler County Sheriff's Office detention deputies who were trying to transfer him to a new cell. The inmate now faces more charges.

Bunnell police officers had arrested the man, a 27-year-old from Jacksonville, on Aug. 23 after catching him driving a stolen car, according to an FCSO news release.

Deputies ordered him to move to a new cell at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 6 because of his behavior toward cellmates, but he argued with and threatened deputies, and spit in one deputy's face.

Deputies put him in a restraining chair and moved him. No one was injured, according to the news release.
