Effective immediately, Bunnell officials ask their residents and utilities customers to cease nonessential water usage until further notice.

“Right now, our manhole covers are overflowing with rainwater,” said Bunnell City Manager Alvin Jackson. “That will change, so please no more showers or dishes or other nonessential uses.”

City officials ask residents to limit toilet flushing as well.

“Please use water sparingly for at least the next 24 hours, but this could last longer because of the amount of rain we are getting at this time” Jackson said.

Bunnell officials are working with the Department of Environmental Protection to find a solution.

Residents who have special medical needs (requiring daily assistances, or that prevent or hinder one’s ability to care for oneself) and live in the above listed evacuation zones and require electricity for medical needs, countywide — please to seek shelter at the Special Medical Needs Shelter on Wednesday.
