DUI. A 48-year-old man from Tennessee was arrested for drunk driving after police saw him swerving in and out of the lane in which the patrol car was traveling.
According to a police report, the man was pulled over, and when asked, he told the reporting officer he hadn't consumed any alcoholic drinks. The officer asked him to perform a series of field sobriety exercises, and the man agreed.
During the "walk and turn" exercise, police noted in the report that, when instructed to walk in a straight line, the man claimed not to see the line, and after it was pointed out to him a second time, said, "There's no way in a million years I could do that." The man added that a back injury rendered him physically unable to walk in a straight line.
He was taken into police custody after failing or declining to perform other exercises, and started to act aggressive towards police while being searched. According to the report, he told police they shouldn't be arresting him because he "works from sun up to sundown" and used a racist slur.
He was taken to jail.

Petit theft. A 21-year-old Daytona Beach man faces a misdemeanor charge after police report he was caught stealing four cans of Vienna sausages and one diet Mountain Dew, valued at $9.25, from a gas station convenience store.
An employee noticed that the man was "acting suspicious" after he entered the store, and told police that he could tell the man was trying to hide items in his pockets, according to a police report. The employee asked the man to empty his pockets otherwise he would have to call police. The man then began to act confrontational, the employee said, and was asked to leave the store.
The employee wished to press charges, but police were unable to find the man at first. However, police returned to the convenience store after receiving a call about a trespasser that matched the man's description. When police spoke with him, the man said he had just stopped by to use the bathroom.
He admitted to stopping by a nearby store earlier and stealing a Dr. Pepper, but claimed he had given it back when asked to by an employee. Police searched him and his backpack, and found three of the four cans of sausages as well as the diet Mountain Dew.
He was taken to jail.
