The Waterfront Park enhancements are expected to be completed in mid-August.

Construction for the project began in November to add a boat launch site for non-motorized vehicles to access the Intracoastal Waterway.

The concrete patio has been installed and the canal dredging completed, according to a press release from the city of Palm Coast. The boat access retaining wall and the sidewalk to access the boat launch are being installed next, Palm Coast Stormwater and Engineering architect Eric Gebo said.

The stockpiled dirt from the dredging has been relocated for future capital improvement project use at Southern Recreation Center, the press release said.

The enhancement work is in two phases, according to an earlier press release. In phase one the dredging, site work, shoreline stabilization, dock installation and concrete pad installation will occur. Phase two will expand parking at the park.

The next phase of this project is the development of the underground Stormwater system to protect the site from flooding, the press release said. Residents are still able to access the shell path while the construction is ongoing.
