Volusia County holds prescribed burn in Lake George Forest

The 58-acre burn will begin at 10:30 a.m. north of Nine Mile Point Road. The blue hiking trail with be closed.

Volusia County Land Management is conducting a prescribed burn in the Lake George Forest and Wildlife Management Area today, Aug. 3, to maintain fire-dependent ecosystems and reduce wildland fuel loads. 

The 58-acre burn will begin at 10:30 a.m. north of Nine Mile Point Road, on Powerline Road. The blue hiking trail with be closed.
