Flagler County schools, some Palm Coast facilities to reopen Thursday after Idalia closures

Schools will resume normal hours on Thursday, Aug. 31. Palm Coast City Hall and the Palm Coast Utility Office will also reopen.

Flagler County schools will reopen Thursday, Aug. 31, after a single-day closure on Wednesday for Hurricane Idalia. 

The school district inspected school and bus stops on Wednesday and will also resume after-school and extracurricular activities on Thursday, according to a news release from the district. 

The city of Palm Coast is conducting citywide damage inspections and will also reopen some facilities on Thursdays, including:

  • Palm Coast City Hall
  • The Palm Coast Utility Office
  • The cart path for the Palm Harbor Golf Club. (The path will reopen at 7 a.m.; the rest of the club will remain closed.) 


City staff is still inspecting other facilities for damage, and will reopen the following locations after they clear a safety inspections, according to a city government news release:

  • Palm Coast Community Center
  • Palm Coast Aquatic Center
  • Palm Coast Tennis Center
  • Indian Trails Sports Complex
  • Parks and trails


The city's Parks and Recreation Department will check the parks and trails on Thursday morning before reopening them. 

City trash pickup will also resume on Thursday.
