Volusia County Schools: Classes to resume Thursday

All schools have been inspected and cleared with no damage.

Schools will reopen in Volusia County on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Superintendent Carmen Balgobin announced the reopening in a statement Wednesday afternoon. All schools have been inspected and cleared with no damage, she reported.

"Families and employees, please return to your usual school schedules starting in the morning," Balgobin said. "Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time. We plan to share more information on instructional make-up time in the near future. We look forward to seeing you back at school tomorrow."
