The holiday season in Ormond Beach is officially underway.
The Casements Guild's 45th annual Christmas Gala saw a large crowd for its tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1. After the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus — accompanied by the Snow Queen and a John D. Rockefeller reenactor — kicked off the celebrations at Rockefeller Gardens, which included live holiday music by The Moonlighters, cookie decorating, train rides, food trucks and a letter writing station to the north pole.
Inside The Casements, which was Rockefeller's winter home, gala attendees perused handmade crafts, enjoyed refreshments and sweets and toured the home, decorated in red and green for the "Holly Jolly Christmas" gala theme.
The gala will run from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3. The community is invited to enter The Casements for free during the event.
