A Daytona Beach woman, 50, was arrested on Dec. 1 after she allegedly flashed a gun at another woman in a Walmart parking lot.

The incident took place just after 10 a.m. at the Walmart on Cypress Point Parkway. The suspect flashed the gun when a woman in another car honked at her as the suspect was backing up into a parking space, according to the suspect's arrest report.

The suspect continued backing up, and the other driver — who was unable to reverse because of traffic — honked again. The suspect continued reversing until she had parked in the spot, the report said.

The other driver told Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies that she saw the suspect take out a small handgun and point it at her, the report said. While the victim called 911, the suspect pulled out of the spot and left.

An FCSO deputy later found the suspect's Ford Fusion and followed it back to the Walmart before pulling it over.

The suspect said she did not pull out her gun — which she said was in the trunk of her car at the time — but picked up her cell phone instead, the report said.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a press release from the FCSO.

The handgun, found in a purse in the suspect's trunk, was not loaded, the arrest report said.
