Pedestrian killed in crash on North U.S. 1 near Destination Daytona

The fatal crash took place around 2:50 a.m. on Thursday.

A pedestrian was killed around 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21, in Ormond Beach after she was struck by a car on U.S. 1, north of Destination Daytona Lane, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The woman was walking on the outside lane of U.S. 1, not in a marked crosswalk, when a 33-year-old Palm Coast woman driving northbound on the highway collided with her. 

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured. FHP reports the crash remains under investigation.
