The new Wawa set to replace the B. Paul Katz Professional Center on Florida Park Drive South is coming closer to fruition.

Palm Coast Deputy Chief Development Officer Ray Tyner said city staff met with RMC Property Group — the Wawa’s developer — on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tyner said that while the city is not ready to issue the development order yet, the meeting went well.

“I think they’re getting close,” Tyner told the Observer.

The application is still going through the technical review process, Tyner said. Once the review process is complete, the applicant will have to go before the city’s Planning and Land Development Regulation Board for approval.

The proposed gas station will be just over 5,600 square feet and sit directly across from the Race Trac.

The B. Paul Katz Professional Center was built in 1986. According to the Flagler County Property Appraiser’s website, the office building sits on 2.9 acres of land and is valued at $2 million.
