Over the next three weeks, the Ocean Center will see 12,500 attendees as three organizations host their summer youth camps at the facility, which is booked for 21 days straight.
“We enjoy hosting these religious youth groups every year, as they’re both great clients and an ideal fit for our building,” Interim Ocean Center Director Tim Buckley said. “The uniqueness of our facility allows for group sessions in the arena, smaller breakouts in the meeting rooms and meals in the exhibit hall. These groups can have it all under one roof at the Ocean Center.”
Oak View Group, the Ocean Center’s contracted food service company, will prepare 40,000 meals, considering special dietary requests for 1,000 attendees, over a nine-day period, according to a news release. Three OVG chefs from across the county will join the team to assist in this task.
