Palm Coast Verizon store will distribute free school backpacks

One backpack containing school supplies will be given away per child present on July 30 beginning at 1 p.m.

The Palm Coast Verizon retailer at 5290 E. State Road 100, Suite 104, will distribute free school backpacks on Sunday, July 30, beginning at 1 p.m.

One backpack per child present will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. The backpacks will contain school supplies such as pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler and glue.

The School Rocks Backpack Giveaway is sponsored nationally by Round Room LLC, which operates 1,248 Verizon retail stores, according to a press release. This is the 11th year of the backpack giveaway.

More than 1,000 Verizon retail stores will be donating 120,000 backpacks and supplies, according to the release.
