Palm Coast’s annual Holiday Boat Parade will be more than a mile longer than in previous years.

The Palm Coast Yacht Club, who sponsors the parade, announced the new route in a press release. The parade is celebrating its 40th year and will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9. It will be held in honor of Al Krier, a community activist who died last December.

The parade route will now begin at Cochise Waterway, the city’s northern-most cut to the Intracoastal Waterway, and head south, passing the Cimarron and Club House waterways. The boats will sail under the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge, pass St. Joe Walkway and Waterfront Park, turnaround at the gazebo Grand Haven and head back to the home port.

A shuttle bus service will also be provided at this year’s parade, the press release said. Residents will be able to park at the Palm Coast Community Center on Palm Coast Parkway and Flagler County buses will take them to and from European Village.
