The Halifax Area Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America held its third annual Outstanding Support to Veterans Award Luncheon at the Halifax River Yacht Club in Daytona Beach on May 25.
This year’s awards were presented to VyStar Credit Union and Ormond Strong.
The Outstanding Support to Veterans Award is presented annually to the local area company or organization making the most significant contribution to veterans and their families.
VyStar Credit Union is the second-largest credit union headquartered in Florida, serving over 875,000 members.
In November 2022, VyStar signed a partnership agreement to participate in the United States Army’s Partnership for Your Success Program, which provides employment opportunities to soldiers as they transition into civilian life. As a PaYS partner, VyStar agrees to guarantee an interview and possible employment to soldiers and veterans.
Ormond Strong is a grassroots organization whose members consist of military veterans, first responders, their families and patriots within the community. Its mission is to raise awareness and support on a daily basis for deployed service members, those who have served in the Armed Forces as well as all who serve in our communities as First Responders.
