Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday signed 10 bills, including an effort to regulate advertisements for legal services.
The measure (HB 1205) focuses on legal-service ads related to pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices, banning use of terms such as “recall” when a product has not been recalled.
It also will require providing disclaimers about the need to first consult doctors about prescribed medication or medical treatments.
Legal-service ads also will be prohibited from displaying the logo of federal or state government agencies that suggest affiliations.
“Written statements must appear in a clear and conspicuous font and manner and, for visual advertisements, must appear on screen for a sufficient length of time for a reasonable consumer to read the statement,” a Senate staff analysis of the bill said.
