The Ormond Beach Police Department earned its reaccreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation on Thursday, June 29, the city announced on its Facebook page.

In order to be reaccredited, assessors from the commission must review the agency's policies, procedures, management, operations and support services, which took place in March. The process is repeated every three years.

Reaccreditation is "a testament to the exceptional leadership of Chief Godfrey and the unwavering commitment of our police officers," the city stated on its Facebook post.

OBPD has consecutively been an accredited agency since 2014. Prior to that, it was reaccredited by the commission in 2002, 2006 and 2009.
