The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a three-car crash in Flagler County that killed a 53-year-old St. Augustine man.

The crash happened at 5:45 p.m. June 29 on State Road A1A and Bay Drive when a pickup truck failed to stop behind another vehicle that was turning, according to a FHP crash report.

The pickup truck had been driving south on S.R. A1A behind an SUV when the SUV signaled it was turning left onto Bay Drive and slowed to a stop, the report said. The truck rear-ended the SUV and rotated towards the centerline, striking a motorcycle in the northbound lane.

There were two people on the motorcycle. A 53-year-old St. Augustine man was driving, and a 52-year-old woman, also from St. Augustine, was his passenger. The man was pronounced dead at AdventHealth Palm Coast, and the woman is in serious condition.

The pickup truck driver and the three occupants of the SUV were not injured.
