Ernest Morris began his Navy career as an enlisted sailor and worked his way through the ranks to become a chief warrant officer. Recognized for his diligence, competence and mission dedication, he was selected for commissioning as a limited duty officer. He served in 12 different grades over his 15 years enlisted and nine years commissioned. Morris served aboard the USS Stribling (DD-867), USS Jonas Ingram (DD-938), USS Thorn (DD-988), USS Dale (CG-19), and the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). He is a veteran of the Gulf War, having served in Desert Storm/Desert Shield. Morris and his wife, Kristi, have lived in Palm Coast since 2017. Morris has been a member of the Disabled American Veterans for 22 years and is currently the senior vice commander of Chapter 86 in Palm Coast, where he also assists veterans and their families as a service officer.
