Flagler County Public Library is offering to take free portraits of graduating seniors during April and May at the main Palm Coast library branch.
All graduating seniors, whether from local public schools, private schools, or home-schooled are welcome to have their portraits taken, a press release from Flagler County said. Students and families taking advantage of the offer should note that, by policy, Flagler Schools accepts only “official” senior portraits for inclusion in its yearbooks.
The photos will be taken in front of a backdrop and students will be able to wear a cap and gown, Chief of Special Projects and Library Director Holly Albanese said. The library will have caps and gowns in white, green and royal blue to use for the photos, or students can wear what they'd like, she said.
“Seniors work too hard to make it to graduation and they deserve to have a nice portrait of their achievement,” she said.
The photos will be sent digitally so families can print what they'd like, but the library will not be providing the prints themselves, Albanese said.
“Portrait packages are expensive and not everyone can afford them," she said. "This is a great opportunity for the Library to give back to the community.”
