Beginning Monday, May 22, Volusia County Beach Safety and Ocean Rescue Division will celebrate Beach Safety Week. Safety information and tips will be posted daily on social media to help beachgoers prepare for successful and safe beach outings this summer. Follow Volusia County Beaches on Facebook and Instagram to learn more.

The public is invited to attend a Beach Safety Week proclamation presentation at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Beach Safety Headquarters, 515 South Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

Rip currents are an ongoing threat going into the weekend, and the safest way to enjoy the water is always in front of a staffed lifeguard tower. The Volusia Beaches app is updated daily and exhibits water conditions and where lifeguards are stationed.

For more information, visit www.volusia.org/beach, download the Volusia Beaches mobile app, or call 386-239-6414.
