Flagler sheriff conducts traffic stop, makes multiple narcotics arrests and apprehends fugitive

Sheriff Rick Staly pulled over a van with six occupants, one of whom had a warrant for his arrest out of Putnam County.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly conducted a traffic stop on Nov. 6 that led to the arrest of three people. 

Staly pulled over a Chrysler van with six occupants in Bunnell near State Road 100 and County Road 55 for passing two cars in a double yellow no-passing zone, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office press release. 

Two of the passengers were arrested on a variety of drug possession charges, and the driver had a warrant from Putnam County for child support. 

The driver initially gave Staly a false name and was driving with a suspended license, according to the press. The driver has been charged with providing a false name and driving with a suspended license. 

During a search of the van, backup deputies found several narcotics including fentanyl, cathinones, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, according to the press release.
