Ormond Ballet is presenting the "The Nutcracker" at The Coliseum this weekend.
The ballet will premiere at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, with additional shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19. "The Nutcracker" will tell the story of Clara Stahlbaum, a girl who is just coming of age and receives a nutcracker from her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer. Tickets cost $30 with a character meet and greet after the show.
“Ormond Ballet’s pre-professional students work tirelessly, three to six days a week depending on age, to create a unique and enchanting production involving both classical and contemporary dance to dazzle audiences,” Ormond Ballet Artistic Director Michelle Boutros said in a press release. “The tenacious work and passion put into the production by Ormond Ballet’s directors, faculty, students, and parents in order to give this gift to Volusia County audiences keeps the excitement alive for both artists and audience members alike. Hopefully, the audience can see and feel the love put into this show. The dancers can’t wait to perform for our audiences.”
