The team members of Halifax Health donated over 175 Basket Brigade Boxes, each containing the essentials for a Thanksgiving dinner, complete with a gift card for a turkey, on Friday, Nov. 10.
This initiative began many years ago with just 100 baskets, and has flourished into a community-wide effort, with over 5,000 meals donated and delivered this year, according to a press release.
"What started as a small effort has blossomed into a beautiful tradition of generosity," said Amy Hall, who stared the initiative. "Witnessing the impact of each donated box on families in our community is truly humbling."
Halifax Health Interim Chief Nursing Officer Heidi Wright played a pivotal role in spearheading this remarkable effort, the press release states.
"The generosity displayed by our team members is inspiring," she said. "It's a testament to the strong sense of community and team work that defines Halifax Health, the community’s healthcare leader for over 95 years."
