Registration opens for third annual Tunnel to Towers 5K

The 5K run and walk will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Central Park in Town Center.

Palm Coast’s third annual Tunnel to Towers 5K has opened for registration.

The 5K will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Central Park in Town Center. The city’s previous two Tunnel to Towers events raised nearly $30,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a press release from the city said.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was formed in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. The foundation helps provide mortgage-free homes to families of veterans and first responders killed or severely injured in service.

Those who wish to participate in or volunteer at the 5K can sign up online at the Palm Coast Tunnel to Towers events page online, the press release said. Registration costs $40 for adults, $35 for first responders and military personnel, $20 for children aged 13-17 and $15 for those 12 and under.

All participants and volunteers will receive a Tunnel to Towers t-shirt and customized medals. Questions about the event can be sent to [email protected].
