Seabreeze fell to the Satellite Scorpions 22-13 on Oct. 6 at Daytona Stadium in a game that was riddled with penalties, unsportsmanlike conduct and repeated first downs by the Sandcrabs that were called back.
“The refs didn’t help us, but there were things we did that could have been better,” Seabreeze head football coach Lester Davis said. “We can’t put it in the refs’ hands. We can’t give them the opportunity to put us in that situation. Like I always say, my boys fight, they don’t flinch. I’m not going to dwell on what they didn’t do.”
Sandcrabs running back Denali Campbell rushed for the first and last touchdowns of the game. The junior captain led his teammates through the chaos with 129 yards — 87 yards rushing with two touchdowns and 42 yards receiving. He also had six tackles.
“I love that kid (Campbell),” Davis said. “He’s going to give me all of him — both sides of the ball. I love all my kids. I don’t like the way they were treated tonight, and that’s why I’m really upset.”

Gio Mitchell also plays both ways for the Sandcrabs. The H-back and defensive end had eight tackles, two sacks, four tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble.
Satellite quarterback Ethan Raffaele was named MaxPreps player of the game with 82 yards passing and a 17-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Atticus Henderson in the second quarter. Noah Flores added a touchdown in the third quarter. Flores had 26 carries and 134 rushing yards.
Satellite (5-2) will play Rockledge Oct. 13 while Seabreeze (1-5) meets Pine Ridge (3-3) on the road.
There are four more games remaining in the season for the Sandcrabs. Davis said his players need to work on tackling and making gains in the weight room. They are not where they want to be strength-wise yet but continue to better themselves.
“We’ve got Pine Ridge next,” he said. “They are on the clock and they’re in trouble. I love coach (Eric) Poyner to death. He knows I do, so what I say I know he’s going to take with a grain of salt, but I want his head too. I don’t know to run away or back down. We’re going to fight.”
