Meet Ben, Smiles, Big Mac and Kali, this week's featured adoptable pets from the Flagler Humane Society.
Ben, 1, was brought to the shelter after being seized from a hoarding situation alongside 34 cats and another dog. Ben is a sweet, well-mannered young boy who is good with other dogs and children. He loves to play fetch and get lots of pets.
Smiles is a friendly and affectionate 2-year-old male cat. He was one of the 34 cats brought in with Ben and another dog after living a hoarding situation. Smiles loves to be around people and he is good with other cats and dogs.
Big Mac was found tied up to a street sign and abandoned with another dog, yet remains such a loving, happy, friendly boy with everyone he meets — even other dogs. He has a sweet, gentle temperament with people and dogs, so he could do well with cats and children too.
Kali was surrendered to the shelter on Sept. 5 for being food and toy aggressive with the three large dogs in the home. However, Kali has done well with young children under 5 years old and cats. She is a loving, sweet girl who would make a great family dog.
The Flagler Humane Society is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1 Shelter Drive in Palm Coast.
Adoption fees vary based on the animal, and the shelter has both dogs and cats up for adoption.
Anyone who is interested in adopting or has questions about the process can contact the Flagler Humane Society at 386-445-1814 or apply online at flaglerhumanesociety.org.
