Over 65 local and international artists came together for the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Galerie Elan on Friday, Oct. 6.
Galerie Elan is an expansion of owner Gregory Graham Grant’s previous gallery, Arts on Granada, as the new location can hold double the amount of artwork, giving more artists a chance to be featured in the gallery.
The gallery, located at 230 S. Beach St. in Daytona Beach, is a cooperative community of artists showing different styles of art in two- and three-dimensional concepts.
The ribbon cutting ceremony included speeches from Grant and Ormond Beach billionaires and philanthropists Cici and Hyatt Brown.
“The thing that inspired me with Galerie Elan were the coffee houses of Paris around the 1900s where some of the world’s greatest creative and intellectual minds would gather to watch wax poetic, tell lies, and change the future of the arts,” Grant said.
Performances from The Adam Kornecki Jazz Duo and artists painting live demonstrations of their work gave guests an inside look on the process of art. The event offered charcuterie and finger foods from the Golden Magnolia Marine Resort, as well as a complimentary wine bar with variations of red and white wines.
