Dear Editor:
Our family was beyond appalled at what the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission did to that "dangerous" deer — slitting its throat and waiting 15 minutes for it to die ("bleed out") as it jumped and struggled frantically while tied to a pole.
Outrage should be directed at the commission in Tallahassee. I know from often being out there in the woods that the FWC would be better named Florida Fishermen and Hunter Protection Agency.
Their overriding concern is making hunters happy. That deer could have been taken to a far woods and released. Terrible. Thank you for reporting on it.
