Dr. Frances Bey, a dentist with the Florida Department of Health-Flagler for the past 19 years, has won the Healthy Start Coalition’s Ron Fisher Award for Flagler County.

The award is given out to outstanding public health professionals who go above and beyond their duties to support and assist mothers and babies.

Dr. Bey began working with DOE-Flagler in November 2004.

“Dr. Bey has a fantastic reputation with the clients of Flagler County and keeps even the youngest dental patients at ease with her caring, encouraging, calm and sometimes humorous, but always positive attitude,” Jaffy Lee, DOE-Flagler’s public information officer, said in a press release.

In presenting Dr. Bey with the award, Gabrielle Bargerstock, the executive director of Healthy Start Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties, said, “The difference Dr. Bey is making in the lives of the children she serves will be felt for years to come, not just through their health but through the education she provides to her clients and their families.”
