Temple Beth Shalom in Palm Coast cordially invites all parties interested in knowing about its religious, educational and social activities to an open house 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Temple Beth Shalom is a unique, unaffiliated egalitarian synagogue that welcomes interfaith families and Jews who have had little to no previous Jewish education, and respects all gender identities.

“Our goal,” said Robert Arkin, Temple Beth Shalom's president, “is to bring Jewish people together, to share our history and heritage, traditions, holidays, philosophies and culture in a joyful family-like environment. We do this by praying together, exploring the deeper messages in Torah and its application to life today, as well as sharing our many fun social activities during each month.”

Arkin said the open house will be a great opportunity for the community to meet Rabbi Karen Tashman, new to the congregation since April, as well as members of the Temple family. Refreshments will be served.

Although prayer and education are the backbone of all religious institutions, Temple Beth Shalom has become a Jewish center for life in Palm Coast. Sisterhood and Men’s Club activities now include bowling nights, poker, mahjong, movies ’n pizza days, day trips, and of course, all holiday festivities.

Rabbi Tashman has a 40-year history in Jewish education, developing creative programs for children and adults of all ages and levels of learning. She will outline her plans for the Temple's upcoming religious school year at the open house.

“Children are our future, and our emphasis is on them,” Rabbi Tashman said.

Temple Beth Shalom is located at 40 Wellington Drive, Palm Coast. For more information, call 386-445-3006, or go to www.tbspalmcoast.org for updated events.
