Parts of State Road A1A in Flagler Beach near the pier will be temporarily closed for several hours in the early hours of Aug. 30.

Starting at 6 a.m., the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be relocating heavy equipment to south of the Flagler Beach pier, according to a USACE press release. A small section of S.R. A1A will close and detours will be in place for traffic for two to four hours while the equipment is moved.

S.R. A1A will be reopened to traffic wen the equipment is moved. The contractor will then remove temporary sand ramps and replace temporarily removed sections of the boardwalk as it begins to demobilize its equipment ahead of project completion, the press release said.
