Palm Coast and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office are receiving grant funding from the Florida Inland Navigation District in 2024.

These FIND grants are aimed at providing new recreation and public safety opportunities, a press release from Palm Coast said. Palm Coast will receive $228,000 toward phase 2 of the city's Waterfront Park enhancements and the FCSO will receive $38,000 toward a new vessel for the FCSO’s Marine Unit.

Phase 1 of the Waterfront Park project, completed last August, added a floating dock, a kayak launch and other amenities while phase 2 will expand the park’s parking area.

Including the phase 2 funding, FIND has contributed $533,000 toward the Waterfront Park project, which totals $1.2 million.

FIND  also granted funding to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office through FIND’s waterway assistance program which supports public safety efforts along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the press release said. The grant will go toward the purchase of a new Tidewater 2110BM marine unit vessel for the FCSO.

FIND will contribute 50% — $38,568 — of the boat’s cost and the FCSO will cover the remaining costs, the press release said.
