A New York singer and songwriter will celebrate the release of his Alligator Records debut album, "The Hard Line," at Blues & Brews Bistro in Ormond Beach on Friday, Jan. 26.
Chris O'Leary is a Marine veteran and ex-Federal police officer, as well as the former lead singer of Levon Helm’s Barn Burners, according to his bio, in which he additionally stated that "The Hard Line" is "the best work I’ve ever done. It’s the most focused, most to-the-point album I’ve ever made.”
O’Leary made his recording debut playing harmonica on blues legend Hubert Sumlin’s "About Them Shoes" in 2003. In 2010, O'Leary released his first album, "Mr. Used To Be" and it was nominated for a Blues Music Award. The album also won the Blues Blast award for Best New Artist Debut. He then released four more solo albums.
