Volusia libraries to take part in Snapshot Day

During the last snapshot day in March 2023, nearly 3,748 people visited a county library.

Volusia County Public Library's 14 branches will participate in the Library Snapshot Day on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Staff will collect statistics, receive comments and take photographs to exhibit how people use library services.

"We invite everyone to stop by and explore the wide range of services and resources we have to offer," Library Services Director Lucinda Colee said. "By participating in this event, you can help us demonstrate our libraries' profound impact on our community."

During the last snapshot day in March 2023, nearly 3,748 people visited a county library.

Highlights from the 2023 event were:

  • 5,715 items were checked out.
  • 815 questions were answered by reference librarians.
  • 481 computer sessions were held.
  • 590 individuals attended a program held at a library.
  • 113 received computer literacy training.
  • 63 new library cards were issued.

Additionally, the library's website received 6,960 visits, and 2,692 patrons accessed a library's Wi-Fi for internet access.
