Marcus Duffy is a Flagler Palm Coast High School graduate, who after graduating law school in 2016 and being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2017, was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force as an active-duty Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps military lawyer. He was assigned as Chief of Military Justice at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida.

He also held positions at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, providing legal advice and drafting legal reviews to units assigned to Joint Base Andrews, Defense Intelligence Agency, National Reconnaissance Office and the Pentagon. In 2022, Duffy deployed to Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where he served as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate. Duffy was recognized as the Air Force Central Command Attorney of the Quarter for Southeast Asia and received the Meritorious Service Medal for his work overseas. He was also selected as Company Grade Officer of the Year (2022) for the Operations and International Law Domain for the Office of the Judge Advocate General.

Among his many duties and titles, he served as the deputy chief for the Utility Law Field Support Center where he represented the Air Force and other federal agencies (local and state entities) before state utility commissions across 24 states in matters involving the procurement and rates of electric, gas, water, and sewer utilities. He is proud to have had had the privilege of serving as an honorary pallbearer for President George H.W. Bush’s State Funeral, for which he received the Air Force Achievement Medal. 

Upon his honorable discharge he also received the Air and Space Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Services Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Air and Space Longevity Service Award. Duffy and his wife Taylor have returned to the St. Augustine/Flagler area to settle down with their three children ages 7, 5, and 2.

He continues to serve as a JAG officer in the Air Force Reserve. Duffy accepted a position as an attorney at Douglas Law Firm and handles matters involving business law, government law, civil litigation and real estate law. To serve his community, he has recently opened an office for his firm in Flagler Beach.
