Bourdeau and Dudley Shaw, co-owners of the Grille, rent the Beach Front, located at 2444 S Ocean Shore Boulevard in Flagler Beach. That lot is owned by the local company Absente 5, LLC, according to the Flagler County Property Appraiser website.
Bourdeau posted on the Beach Front's Facebook page on Jan. 26 announcing he and Shaw entered into a mediated agreement to purchase Beach Front for $2.25 million in June. Their team has until Jan. 31 to close the deal, but as of Jan. 26 had only managed to secure $1.7 million.
"Just a little bit short of the needed funds to close," the post said. "There have been and will continue to be heavy negotiations, texts and phone calls over the weekend to cross the finish line before Wednesday."
A follow up post made around noon on Jan. 30 said "the outlook is looking good" for the Beach Front, though the team had not reached the total yet.
The Beach Front Grille opened in 2018, according to SunBiz, and has become one of Flagler Beach's more popular restaurants. In March 2023, Bourdeau and Shaw opened Looper Par & Grill together at the Palm Harbor Golf Course. The duo rent that location from the city of Palm Coast.
Later on in 2023, Bourdeau, in conjunction with Palm Coast businessman Joe Wright, also purchased and renovated the airport restaurant High Jackers, renaming it the Landing Strip. That lot is owned and rented to the Landing Strip by Flagler County.
Some of the Beach Front's staff will move to the Landing Strip and Loopers, Bourdeau said in the post, but those locations are already fully staffed.
"If we do get it done, then no problem," the post said. "If we don’t get it done then we hand over the keys and enjoy the memories we have had on what could be our final weekend."
Customers with active gift cards were asked to go to the Beach Front to swap their gift certificates to Loopers gift certificates.
"We’ve had a great relationship all these years and I’d rather be transparent with you than to hear it from someone with half truths, spin and innuendo," the post said.
