Volusia County Schools gave the community a sneak peek of the new Tomoka Elementary School on Monday, July 1.
The school district posted images of the school's construction progress on its Facebook page. VCS broke ground on the school's new $49.3 million campus in June 2023. The old campus dated back to 1968.
"This state-of-the-art facility, opening in August, promises to bring incredible opportunities for our students and educators," the district wrote on its Facebook page. "It’s a fresh start that signifies our commitment to providing the best educational facilities for our students. Get ready to be amazed!"
Once open, the new school will have a student capacity of 836 students and feature an improved parent drop-off area.
