Flagler County Veteran of the Week: Naldis Lee

Lee was in the Persian Gulf aboard the U.S.S. La Salle during Desert Storm.

Naldis Lee is a veteran of the Gulf War. He enlisted and entered service as Operation Desert Shield was launching and was in the Persian Gulf aboard the U.S.S. La Salle for Desert Storm. His duties made him responsible for keeping all requisite materials on-hand and available for pilots and aircraft technicians assigned to the ship. He later transferred to the U.S.S. Wasp where he performed the same function.

Lee earned the following awards and decorations before his honorable discharge: Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Southwest Asia Service Medal with bronze star, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. Upon leaving Naval service, Lee returned to Palm Coast, where he still resides today.
