Overnight at 12:22 a.m., Bunnell police officers and Flagler County sheriff’s deputies responded to Hymon Circle in the city of Bunnell following a 9-1-1 call from a resident who reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Responding officers and deputies found shell casings in the roadway.  Through investigative means, a video of the incident was found showing two men parking a vehicle on Hymon Circle.  The men exited the vehicle and walked around a home.  The two men returned to the car and as they drove away, both started shooting at the same home.

No one was injured in the shooting.

The vehicle was identified, and a bulletin was dispatched to surrounding law enforcement agencies in the region. Soon after, the Daytona Beach Police Department found the vehicle parked in an apartment complex.  In plain view inside the vehicle was a handgun and ammunition.

Bunnell police detectives and crime scene investigators from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded and assumed the investigation.

“We will not tolerate violence, and we will use all of our resources to identify those responsible and hold them accountable,” said Bunnell Police Chief David Brannon.  “Thank you to our law enforcement partners – Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young and your respective deputies and officers for the assistance provided to us.”
