Halifax Humane Society is beyond capacity and needs the community to help by adopting an adult dog this weekend.

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 21-23, all fees to adopt have been waived. As an incentive, HHS is offering the following for large adult dogs, one-year of age plus adoptions.

  • Adoption fee is waived, but all adoption procedures and verifications are still required.
  • Adoption includes 6-months of Elanco flea & tick, and heartworm preventative.
  • Adoption includes 40 lbs. of Hills Science Premium Dog Food.
  • Adoption includes the spay/neuter procedure and all up-to-date vaccinations
  • Adoption includes a starter treat kit.

If purchased individually, these items would cost over $500.

Please visit the shelter located at 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124 (I-95 to the LPGA Blvd. exit, go west to the first stop light and turn right), on Friday, June 21 through Sunday June 23 between noon and 6 p.m. to adopt your large adult dog.

“The homeless adult dog crisis is impacting shelters across our state," said Barry KuKes, interim Community Outreach director. "Your adoption of a large dog will free up space that can be used for another dog waiting for life-saving services. Dogs don’t belong in shelters; they belong in loving homes. Please visit the shelter to adopt and take advantage of the incentives being offered."
