Ormond Beach local Marin Houck is now modeling for Ron Jon.
Houck, who was Miss Seabreeze 2022-2023, began surfing at 5 years old, she said in a statement to the
Observer. Ron Jon merchandise and gear held a special place in her heart, as her height was measured on one of the brand's boards growing up. She admired their team riders and aspired to join their ranks, Houck said.
"While my path didn't lead me to become one of Ron Jon's team riders, something equally thrilling happened when I was 17: I ventured into modeling and landed a casting call for Ron Jon," Houck said. "It was a moment filled with excitement and hope, and the experience that followed was nothing short of incredible. A full day of surfing, skateboarding, and capturing moments through photos allowed me to merge my passions with work. Seeing myself in stores and on billboards today is a true realization of a childhood dream."
Houck, a student at Florida State University, said she is hopeful for more modeling opportunities like this one to continue forwarding her career.
