Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach recently hosted a ceremony in honor of Veterans Day, celebrating veterans’ service and dedication. The event brought together veterans, Halifax Health Team Members and honored guests for a day of tribute and gratitude.
In his opening remarks, Halifax Health President and CEO Jeff Feasel welcomed attendees.
"Today, we not only honor our brave veterans but also celebrate the incredible spirit of service and dedication that runs through the heart of Halifax Health," Feasel said.
Feasel highlighted the impact of veterans within Halifax Health, noting that over 200 team members are veterans.
“We are indebted to them, not only for their military service but for their commitment to the well-being of our community,” Feasel said.
The event included the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ROTC Color Guard, a rendition of the national anthem by the Mainland High School Chorus and a reflective prayer led by Chaplain Tim Hildreth. Guest speaker Travis Sargent, a retired United States Marine Corps veteran, insurance executive, and Ormond Beach City Commissioner, shared his journey from Daytona State College to joining and serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
The ceremony concluded with Taps to honor fallen heroes, and veterans in attendance were invited to the front to be recognized. A luncheon followed in the France Tower Meeting Rooms, where team members and guests had the opportunity to extend their appreciation to the veterans. A special slideshow paid tribute to Halifax Health veterans.
