Mr. James Francis Turner II, age 73, of Bunnell, Florida, succumbed to several strokes and cardiovascular disease.  He passed away on November 1, 2024, at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast.  James was born June 30, 1951, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and was the son of the late James and Genevieve Turner.

James was predeceased in death by his partner of 35 years, John (Jack) Gardner.  He is survived by his two loving sisters, Kedakai Turner Lipton and Martha Turner Demers, as well as two nephews, Thomas and John Demers, and two great nephews, Thomas and Jack Demers, and two great nieces, Taylor and Kiersten Demers.

James was an alumnus of Power Memorial High School in New York City and attended St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Empire College, New York City.

James was a former resident of Tuscan Gardens in Palm Coast, Mount Dora and The Villages, FL, Fountain Hills, AZ, Morris Town, NJ and New York City.   He was an accountant who worked at Pryor Cashman Law Firm, Maersk Line and was Hotel Manager at Diamond International in Scottsdale, AZ where he was awarded Outstanding Employee of the Year.

James had very strong values and was loved by his family and friends due to his positive energy and generously volunteered his time to help others. 

He loved to travel and was an avid photographer who created many books of his travels.  A wonderful quilter, James was also passionate and very active in several local theater groups including Our lady of Perpetual Help Theatre Group in Brooklyn, NY and Flagler Playhouse in Bunnell.
