Matanzas High School celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

The World Language Department and Spanish language students created gallery walks honoring Hispanic Americans.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated  from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans who have enhanced and enriched our world.

The World Language Department at Matanzas High School helped educate not only Spanish language students but the entire student population in the importance of Spanish Heritage Month and also to honor Hispanic faculty members for their special gifts to the school.

Students worked hard creating gallery walks honoring Hispanic Americans who have contributed in different areas such us technology, food, music, art, literature and politics.

They also created displays with flags of Spanish-speaking countries and important facts and talked about Hispanic American Heritage on the morning announcements.

Students also created self portraits and writings regarding their own heritage.
