Evelyn Fontanez, age 77, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024.
She was born in Luquillo, Puerto Rico on October 17, 1946. She graduated from Jane Addams High School (Bronx, NY), in 1964. She was married to Miguel Angel Fontanez on November 3, 1967.
She worked in customer service for most of her life up until she retired from Beall’s Department Store in the early 2000’s.
She was a member of Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church Rosary Prayer Group in Palm Coast, Florida. She was also a parishioner. She was a member of Palm Coast Latin Club. While a resident in Paramus, NJ in the 1980’s, she was a member of a ceramics club and very active in her children’s school and sports functions.
She had a passion for cooking, loved to crochet and an avid New York Mets fan. Her main passion was her family.
She was survived by her husband; Miguel Angel Fontanez, Children; Miguel Fontanez, Orlando Fontanez, Elena Burns (Robert), Grandchildren; Isabel Fontanez, Liam Burns, Courtney Burns, Nieces; Alexandra Vecchiolla, Christina Vecchiolla, Leticia Ricciardi, Shelia Collazo, Nephew; Raul (Junior) Collazo, Cousins; Jenny Flores, Nancy Rosado, Angel Rosado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Marcos and Josefina Flores, Sister; Josephine Rexach, Brother in Law; Angelo Rexach, Aunt; Herminia Rosado
