On Friday, Oct. 25, three members of the board of directors for University Women of Flagler gave a $2,000 check to the Flagler County Education Foundation to help support the Peter & Sue Freytag Take Stock in Children program.

Ed Foundation Executive Director Teresa Rizzo and Assistant Director of Student Services Selina Hernandez accepted the check. Take Stock in Children is a statewide initiative that provides mentors, college services and scholarships to low-income students.

Students in the program must maintain a 2.5 grade point average, have regular mentoring sessions, and show exemplary behavior to become “architects of their own success.”
