An Ormond Beach man was sentenced to five years in prison on Sept. 3 after a jury found him guilty for recording a girl under the age of 12 while she was in the bathroom.

Tyler Habdas, 32, will serve five years in prison and then eight years on the sex offender probation. He was found guilty of five counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication devices, three counts of video voyeurism of a victim under 12 and child abuse, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office press release.

Habdas was arrested by Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies in May 2023 after the victim's mother — a Flagler County resident — reported him.

After the jury's conviction, Habdas was immediately remanded into custody, the press release said.
